The Mirror

In this beautiful and lyrical setting of A. A. Milne’s poem about reflections in the water, the music uses the warmth of Eb Major to evoke the poem’s dreamy feeling of a languid summer day. The beauty of mirrored reflection in water – “silent trees stoop down to trees” and “a white swan making another white swan in the lake” –  Top of Formis conveyed in both the vocal and piano parts.
